TWO BRAVE CHILDREN.
SAVE TWO OTHERS FROM DROWNING. Two plucky rescues of children from the sea were made by two other children in August, reports a London journal. At Weymouth, Kenneth King, aged 14, dived fully clothed into 14ft of water in Weymouth Harbour and rescued Raymond Bishop, aged five, who had fallen in when playing on the sea wall. Naval men revived tho child, and King left without giving his name, but he was recognised by an onlooker. “I don’t know who it was 1 rescued,” he said later. “1 cycled home to change my clothes, and did not want my name to be known.” King is a Dorset County boy footballer. The second rescue was made by Gladys Firth, aged 14, of Hull, who saved her brother Jack, aged 10, from the sea at Withernsea, Yorkshire. The boy was out of his depth and sank, and his sister swam out and brought him ashore. Ho was unconscious, but after artificial respiration was tried lie recovered.
