BOXING CONTESTS.
ROSS-CARROLL BOUT OFF. Received September 30, 10.0 a.m. CHICAGO, Sept. 29. The bout between Ross and Carroll has been cancelled owing to the failure to secure the deposit. Negotiations are now being made for a contest between ltoss and Ambers at Madison Square. Ross is leaving on Thursday for Wisconsin to begin training.
