ARMY RESERVE.
EXCELLENT RESPONSE. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Sept. 28. The prompt manner in which reservists of Section A of the Army Reserve, who were recently called up for service in connection with reinforcing the garrison in Palestine, reported for duty is the subject of a statement issued by the War Office to-day. The calling-up notices were received at. the earliest by reservists on Saturday morning, September 5. Less than 48 hours later no fewer than 70 per cent, had enlisted for duty at their regimental depots, and by September 10 the total of reservists who had rejoined was 99 per cent. Bearing in mind that the men were scattered throughout the British Isles it is considered that the figures bear witness to the excellent spirit of tho reservists. An interesting point is that only 2 per cent, were found to be medically unfit, and these only temporarily so on account of injuries or illness.
