RANGIOTU INSTITUTE.
The committee of the Itangiotu Women’s institute met recently, Mrs Beard presiding in the unavoidable absence of the president, Mrs S. Pearce. There were also present Mesdames Larkin, Graham, D. Cook. Miss P. Gimblett and Mrs E. Bussell (secretary). An apology was received from Mrs Toogood. Programmes for the next three months were drawn up, and it was decided to hold a children’s fancy dress Christmas party in December. Miss Lee, of the Maori mission, who is stationed at Foxton, will talk about her work among the Maoris at the next meeting. Mrs Larkin has been busy training a number of girls, who will give Maori song and dance items. The roll call will be for the best Maori joke. The competition will be for a bowl of spring flowers. Mrs H. Cook and Misses R. Wilton and E. Larkin will act as hostesses.
