WAIATA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) WAIATA, June 10. On Wednesday evening a euchre party and png-pong tournament was held at “Glengarnock," tbo home of Airs It. A'. Brown. The function was sponsored by the Waiata Women’s Institute md the proceeds were in aid of the institute’s funds. Euchre tables were set out in the din.ngrooin, which was decorated with liowls of roses. Mrs Brown and Miss M. Brown received the guests, Mrs Brown wourug a becoming gown of black silk velvet and georgette and Aliss brown wore a smart frock of salmon craquelle crepe. Mrs A. O. Simpson, president of the institute, was frocked *i floral marocain. 1-1< .lours in the euchre section went to Mrs J. Itedshaw and Air W. Turner, consolation trophies being awarded to Airs C. Gore and Mr J. Dawson. Competition was keen in the ping-pong soctioi, tbo winners being M'ss A. Mulholland and Air 11. Wilson. The trophies were presented by Airs Simpson, who tin i iked Mr and All's Brown for placing their homo at the disposal of the institute and also expressed appreciation of the good attendance. Those present were: Mr and Airs It. W. Brown. Aliss Al. Brov.ii, Airs A. O. Simpson, Alesdanies P. Bai.ey, J. Itedshaw, 11. Mulholland, Air and Mrs B. Aliers, Air and Airs C. Gore, Alisses x\.
