CAGE BIRDS
SUCCESS AT WANGANUI. There was a total of 150 entries in the various classes at the first annual show of the Wanganui Canary and Cage Bird Club on Thursday. Birds were entered from Hamilton, Stratford, Inglewood, Palmerston North, Auckland and a number of other centres. Palmerston North competitors fared as follow: Novice class (open).—Buff hen, buff cock, and yellow lien, any variety, J. S. Jenkinson 1. in each class. . .budgerigars. —Champion classes : Light green cocks, H. E. Edmunds 1, E J. Hicken 3. Olive, H E. Edmu lids 1. Sky blue, -H. Jlxiiiiuiids 1, E. J. Hicken 3. Cobalt, H. E. Edmunds 1, E. J. Hicken 2. Skv blue hen, E. J. Hicken 1. Grey wings, H. E. Edmunds 2. Any other colour, including green or blue, H. E. Edmunds 2. Single hen, any other colour, H. E. Edmunds 1. Pair of finches, other than Zebras.— E. J. Hicken 1. Children’s classes. —Canary. E. Hicken 3. Budgerigar, E. Hicken 1. Any variety cage bird, E. Hicken 2. Special in novice class. —I. Jcnkiuson.
