WORK RELIEF.
NEW YORK STATE. Received April 23, 1.5 p.m. NEW YORK, April 22. Although New York is the wealthiest State in the nation, it is nevertheless receiving 27 per cent., of the w'ork relief funds apportioned by the Federal Government, yet it has only one-tentli of the nation's population. The total allocation throughout country for work relief is, 4,576,000,000 dollars, and at the present rate it is expected that another 1000,000,000 will be needed to finish out the fiscal year. , - ■
