INCIDENT IN SUBMARINE. LONDON, April 11. Following recent- cases of. sabotage in warshins, Secret Service officers risited Plymouth to investigate a mishap to the submarine L 54, which was recently refitted at Devonport. When a vital motor was started up a piece of metal was found in the machinery. Fortunately no serious damage was done. A later message states that a six* inch spanner was found in the electrical equipment of the L 54 in such a position that if the craft dived it might have prevented her return to the surface.
