PAHIATUA.

PAHIATUA, Sept. 14. At the fortnightly meeting of the U.A.O.D. Lodge Sister a. MacGregor, A.D., presided. Four members were reported on tbe sick list. There was a good attendance at the weekly euchre tournament hold at Mangahao. Prizes were won by Mrs Ross and Mr J. Hercock, and consolation prizes by Miss Molly Cliinery and Mr D. Eddie.

The social and dance organised by the Pahiatua District High School Old Pupils’ Association was an enjoyable function. There was a good attendance, the gathering being a financial as well as social success. Mr L. Parker was M.C.

Mr L. K. Sanders, formerly of Pahiatua, is in hospital in Palmerston North suffering from pneumonia. Mr George Purdy, of Branscombe Station, Akitio, is a patient in a nursing home at Wellington. He expects to return home on September 22.
