AVALKER BEATS VENTNER
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Sept. 13. In the first professional wrestling match staged by the North Auckland Association at AVliangarci to-night, George AValker beat Peter A’cntner, South African champion. The bout was delayed for 40 minutes lis the ring was found to be below the regulation size, and had to be reconstructed. A’entner, on testing the ropes, tore away the supports from one of the corner posts, and the ring collapsed again. The first three rounds were uninteresting. The fifth round started with Ventner sitting on top of the post in the corner. He refused to come down, but when AValker came near him he jumped on him and applied a painful octopus hold from winch ho gamed a submission fall. Ventner continued strongly _ in the sixth round, but AValker gained a black-loop slam and A’entncr was unable to continue. BLOAJFIELD BEATS ELLIOT. Per Press Association. HASTINGS, Sept. 13. In a bright wrestling contest Lofty Blomfield, I6st 51b, beat King Elliot, lost 81b, the latter being unable to continue when, in the seventh round, he fell underneath as both men went over the ropes. TAVO INDIANS ARRIVE. AUCKLAND, Sept. 13. Two Indian wrestlers, Tiger Duala and Fazal Duala, arrived by the AVattganella from Sydney to-day to take part in wrestling matches in the Dominion. Both have .wrestled with success in the United States, Japan, and Australia. The two wrestlers left for AYcllington.
