CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES. / Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Sept. 4. The New Zealand amateur billiards champion. M. McLean (Christchurch), was beaten by L. Houldsworth (Auckland), by 666 points to 322. A. Bowie (Dunedin), lost to E. Donohue (Auckland), by 9 points, the score being Donohue 666, Bowie 657. In the second day’s play in a tendays’ billiard match between Lindrum and McConachy, Lindrum raised his score from 590 to 2128. and McConachy his from 595 to 1308 (in play). In the afternoon session Lindrum compiled a break of 205, McConachy’s best being 180 and 178. The evening session saw breaks of 193, 565, and 195 by Lindrum, who thus compiled 993 in four visits to the table.
