BOY SCOUTS.
PRESENTATION TO AIISS E. YOUNG. Aliss E. A’oung, who has resigned her office as cubmistress in tbe Feilding Boy Scout movement, was tile recipi-
cut of presentations last night at the weekly parade of Scouts and Cubs. Air AY. E. Carthew (chairman of the citizens’ committee) presented to Aliss Young a chromium-plated clock from tho Scouts and Cubs and a certificate from the association. Air Carthew read a letter of apology from Mr A. C. Buist (lion, secretary), absent through illness, and whose letter recorded that Aliss A’onng was appointed assistantCubmi.stre.ss in 1927 and promoted to be Cubmistross in 1928. Air Carthew expressed regret at Aliss A'oung’s resignation and sincere appreciation for her valuable work over a period of about eight years. In the name of the Cubs, assistant-Cubmis-tress AI. Fitzpatrick, presented Aliss A'oting with a totem pole carrying the Cub pack colours and in doing so hoped that tbe good work done by tbe retiring officer would be carried on. Aliss A’oung sincerely thanked the association, the Scouts and Cubs for their generous gifts, and added that though she was resigning her office, she would continue t-o show her interest in the movement and would give her help at any time it was asked for.
