ANNUAL AIEETING.

Tn the unavoidable absence of the interim moderator (Rev. John Hubbard, ALA., 8.D.), the chair was taken by the acting-minister (Rev. F. A. Thompson) at the annual meeting of adherents of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church last night. The meeting opened with devotional exercises following which the reports of the various activities of the Church were

'• taken. In moving the adoption of the ses- ' siou report, Air S. D. Pearce mentioned the very broken nature of the work of the past year and spoke of the excellent efforts of Air Thompson, ' while acting as supply. The meeting carried a silent vote of sympathy with Air A. E. AYilson and family in the great loss they have sustained by the death of Airs AYilson. The late Airs | Wilson was a much loved member of the congregation. | Air Peat moved the adoption of the management committee’s report and said he thought it could ho considered satisfactory. I Air Aldis asked if the congregation really thought the report in which it was stated £564 had been collected and £6ll spent was satisfactory. Air Pearce mentioned the very heavy expenses to be mot in the near future for painting and renovations and that the annual golden offering in aid of this was being taken on September loth. He considered it might be necessary to arrange for some special effort in the matter. M iss AYhisker made ail eloquent speech in supporting the Sunday school report. She specially made mention as to how much they, both scholars and teachers, appreciated Air Thompson’s lantern lectures. AVitli reference to the choir very pleasing remarks were made bv several speakers to the untiring and faithful work of Air Geo. Bartholomew as leader. Miss AI. Aldis, in moving the girls’ auxiliary report, appealed for the assistance, in any way possible, of the congregation in their sale of work which was being held next month. They would also bo glad, she said, to welcome in their ranks the youn- people of the congregation interested. Afrs Gosnell, in commending the work of the P.AY.M.U., drew the attention of the committee to a valuable letter by Rev. J. L. Gray. Tbe other reports —Bible classes and Tennis Clul> —were accepted. Air Thompson added a few words of grateful appreciation of his stay in Feilding. Alessrs AI. AlcEwen, A. E. Alatheson, J. J. Sandbrook and 1). N. Ferguson were re-elected to the management committee and a vote of thanks was accorded the retiring lion, auditor (Air N. Bartholomew). .
