ARBOR DAY.

AT MANCHESTER STREET SCHOOL.

Arbor Day was observed at Alanchester Street School yesterday afternoon, when Air N. Alalrolm, of the Feilding High School staff, gave an address to the children on New Zealand flora. The uses of the native trees and shrubs, their value for ornamental purposes, and the benefit of the study of their qualities and habits, were described to the children in a very interesting way. Air Alalcolm impressed on his youthful audience their duty of developing a love for their native vegetation. On behalf of the School Committee, the staff and the children, Air Alalcolm was thanked for his address by Air G. J. Fitzpatrick, chairman of tho committee, who said this was the third occasion on which Air Alalcolm had given an Arbor Day address and he would be again invited to speak when the time came round.
