MESSAGES BY RUNNERS. THE BOYS’ BRIGADE. LONDON.. May 2. The Duke of York was the central figure at the Boys’ Brigade demonstration in the Albert Hall. He received an address of loyalty to the King which 2000 brigade members had brought to London in relay runs all day and all night from John o’ Groats, Londonderry, and other corners of the United Kingdom. The message included references to the loyal homage of thousands of brigade members in the Dominions.

There were amazing scenes in the West End at midnight, when hundreds of thousands of people were still thronging the streets to see the decorations. Traffic for one period was at a standstill for the whole length of "Regent Street and along Oxford Street as far as Marble Arclr. SERVICE AT ST. PAUL’S. ANNOUNCEMENT OF DETAILS. In the radio section of the “Standard- ’ on Wednesday evening appeared the programme of special broadcasts to be undertaken by the British Broadcasting Corporation in connection with the King’s Jubilee the chief of which will be rebroadcast by the New Zealand National stations. Details of the great thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Cathedral have now come to hand from the 8.8. C.

It is interesting to note from the official phraseology that it is to be “a thanksgiving service for the protection afforded to the King’s Majesty during the twenty-five years of his auspicious reign, ordered by the Lords of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, in the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, London.” The order is announced as follows: The National Anthem (verse one); hymn. “All People That on Earth Do Dwell” (A. and M., 16G; E.H., 3G5); Versicles and Responses; Venite, Psalm 95 (‘‘o Come, Let us Sing unto the Lord”); Psalm 121 (“I will Lift up mine Eyes unto the Hills”); Lessons, Joshua I, 7. 8,9; Revelation XNI, 10, 11, 23. 24; hymn. “I Vow to' thee, my Country, all Earthly Things Above” (S.P., 319); or “City of God. How Broad and Ear” (E.H., 375; S.P., 468); address by His Grace the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury; hymn, “0 God of Jacob, by Whose Hand” (A. and M., 512); Thanksgiving; Suffrages and Prayers; Te Deum; Blessing; the National Anthem (verses one and three). The service will be preceded by a description of the arrival of ThenMajesties the King and Queen at Temple Bar. and the scenes outside the Cathedral, and will be followed by a description of the departure ot Their Majesties from the Cathedral. The commentator will lie Commander Stephen King-Hall, R.N. In order to facilitate the world-wide propagation of this service the following wave-lengths will be used: GSF °19.82 metres (15,140 kilocycles) ; GSG,’ 16.8 G metres (17,790 kilocycles). Transmission will begin at 10.5 a.m. at Home, corresponding to 9.30 p.m. in New Zealand on Monday night. Other details appeared in Vicdnesday’s radio notes.
