CHRISTCHURCH, 'March 14. “There has been a lot of trouble at (lances held in the country districts with disturbances and bad language, and we intend to put such behaviour down with a firm hand,” said the sub-inspector in the Magistrate’s Court to-day. when Leo Charles Streeter, aged 18, was charged with using obscene language at Halswell, and also with being drunk. “I had a smilar case to deal with yesterday in another country district,” said the Magistrate (Mr E. 1). Mosley). The sub-inspector said that there had been complaints about the behaviour at dances at Halsweli and tne hall was visited by a constable. Accused was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within six months.
