EMPIRE AIRWAYS.

ON SOLID FOUNDATIONS. (British Official Wireless.) Received November 23, 12.25 p.m. RUGBY, Nov. 22. Lord Londonderry ? speaking in the House of Lords, reviewed the progress in civil aviation. Referring to the projected England to Australia service, he said that, long before the Melbourne race, plans were drawn up for an accelerated schedule 1 between this country and Australia nearly halving the schedule with which the service is to open. They were also aiming at similar accelerations to other Dominions. In due course the Government hoped to improve even on that programme. The object was to lay solid toundations,- not to run up an edifice which would be in danger of crumpling at the first breath of another economic blizzard, should we have . the misfortune to encounter one.
