DEFENCE CONFERENCE.
THE PREMIER RETICENT. Per Press Association, k WELLINGTON, Nov. 23. The defence conference between Sir Maurice Hankey, Sir George Pearce, and the Government concluded early this afternoon. The visitors were entertained to luncheon. In an interview, Rt. Hon. G. W\ Forbes said he was not in a position
to make any statement about what was being done. In the conference there had been a frank discussion on the various defence problems facing the Empire, with particular reference to Australia and New Zealand Asked whether the results of the conference would lead to Cabinet action, Mr Forbes said ,he was not in a position to say at the moment what the outcome of the deliberations would be. Sir Maurice Hankey and Sir George Pearce will leave by car to-morrow morning for the north.
