DUKE OF GLOUCESTER.

RECEPTIONS IN SYDNEY

Received November 23, 1 p.m. SYDNEY, Nov. 23.

The degree of Doctor of Laws was conferred on Prince Henry to-day by the Sydney University. An address of loyalty and welcome was presented by the University and by the Undergraduates’ Association. The Duke subsequently visited the sick and disabled returned sailors and soldiers at the Prince of Wales Repatriation General Hospital. He then attended a school children’s display at the Showgrounds. A living map of Australia with the word “welcome” inset, and the singing of a special song of welcome, were features'- of this display in which 10,000 children narticipated. Public interest in the Duke’s visit is still enormous, crowds thronging the routes between the various functions attended.
