REMARKABLE RAINFALL.

DOWNPOUR AT GLEN OROUA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) GLEN OROUA, Nov. 22. A remarkable downpour of rain occurred at about 3 o’clock on Tuesday afternoon and lasted for over an hour. During the period mentioned the amount of rainfmll registered at the school was 2.22 inches, but as the gauge had overflowed * the actual amount was not ascertainable. In the school grounds the water was in places over 6 inches deep, and all ' the drains overflowed. Much water is still lying in the hollows.

At Taikorea the amount of fall was only about one inch, while at Kaimatarau it was stated that little rain felL
