DEATH OF FISHERMAN.

John Harold Outram, aged 35, a single man, lost liis life at Taieri Mouth this morning. Mr Owtrom, who lived with his brother Thomas at Kuri Bush, was part-owner of a fishing launch in which lie and his brother went fishing, returning about 9.55 am. Thomas was at the tiller and John was in the engine-room with the door closed. A large wave struck the boat, capsizing it. Thomas was. thrown out and managed to free himself of his heavy boots and trousers, and swam ashore, a distance of a mile and a half. He had to make his way against a strong outward current and was in the water for over an hour.

His brother John was trapped in the engine-room and drowned. After the news had been received, a fisherman went out and found the launch about two miles down the coast in a waterlogged condition. He recovered the body of deceased, and towed the launch ashore.
