ASSETS AND LIABILITIES. MINOR CHANGES SHOWN. WELLINGTON, Nov. 23. The sixteenth weekly statement of the assets and liabilities of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand as at the close of business on Monday, November 19, is as follows :

Prqportion of reserve (No. 8 less No. 6) to notes and other demand liabilities, 99.53 per cent., compared with 99.51 per cent, on November 12. Minor changes appear in the statement this week. Notes issued show a further increase of £28,799 to £9,081,773. Government deposits continue to increase and now stand at £5.975,656 12s 2d, a rise on the week of £41,300 11s 4d. Trading banks’ deposits have dccreasel by £79,497 12s 6d and are shown at £11,690,204 ss. demand liabilities have increased by £lB3 to £3671 16s Bd. Other liabilities show a decrease of £1845 and stand at £39,208 17s 7d. On the assets side, gold still stands unchanged at £3,001,727. A very slight increase of £226 in sterling exchange brings the amount to £23,624,404 3s 2d. Subsidiary coin at £98,680 15s 3d shows a decrease of £1563 7s. Investments are unchanged at £1,542,654 Is 9d, and other assets have decreased by £9723 to £23,048 Us 3d. The statement balances at £28,290,514 11s sd, a decrease oE £11,060.
