THE ROYAL WEDDING.

AN INVITATION DECLINED

LONDON, Nov. 18

Royal guests have already begun to arrive for the Duke of Kent’s wedding. Princess Irene of Greece, Princesses Helen and Ueana of Roumania, the Queen Mother of Roumania and Prince Paul of Greece, arrived by air from Paris to-day. Princess Juliana of Holland leaves Rotterdam to-morrow.

The Daily Express states that the Governor-General of the Irish Free State, Mr Donald Buckley, has declined His Majesty’s invitation to the Duke of Kent’s wedding. Mr Buckley has never attended any function in his official capacity. To do so would be a breach of the understanding reached when he was appointed. It is stated authoritatively that no member of Mr De Valera’s Government will attend, but it may be represented by Mr J. W. Dulanty, High Commissioner in London.
