BULLS.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, Nov. 19. The annual meeting of the Rangitikci Defence Rifle Club was held on Friday evening, the president (Mr K. W. Dalryinple) being in the chair, and there being a very good attendance of members. The balance-sheet for 1933-34 showed a credit balance, and was adopted; as was the annual report, the lattor reading:—“lt can truly bo said that tbo season was a most successful one. Members attended five local association meetings, and succeeded in having their names placed on the prize list oh no less than 54 occasions. P. Thorby won the Kiwitca Bet; H. Meads the Huntcrvillo Handicap Bolt; and R. McKenzie the Patca tyro aggregate. The club won the teams match at Kiwitca, was second at Patea and at Bulls, and also won the Greer Shield, which is a very fine trophy. Eight inter-club matches were fired, and only one was lost. At practice shoots members scored 26 seven-shot possibles, and three ten-shot possibles. P. Thorby again equalled the range record with a score of 104, and K. W. Dalrymplc, P. Thorby and L. Huddleston also put on scores of 103. C. Broughton’s 99 out of a possible of 100 is also worth recording. The 800 and 900yds ranges wore used several times, and quite good shooting was registered at those distances. The club’s weakness is the fact that our activo membership is only about nino men, and wo would heartily wolcomc additional members. I can assure them that they will receive all the practical help and assistance necessary to enable them to master the science of rifle shooting. The finances of the club, as shown by the balance-sheet, are sound; we have a good and up-to-date range. I trust that members wil have another successful year;” The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Colonel C. G. Powlcs; president, Mr K. VV. Dalrymplc; deputy-president, Mr D. Lundy; hon. secretary, Mr 11. Meads; hon. treasurer, Mr -T. B. Robins; viedprosidonts, Messrs F. Simpson, A. Norris, C. Thorby, C. M. Broughton, and A. W. Amon; ammunition custodian, Mr Robins; hatidicapper, Mr L. Huddleston: hon. auditor, Mr J. J. Mansell; executive committee, the president, secretary and treasurer; general committee, Messrs L. Huddleston. P. Thorby and R. McKenzie. The subscription was fixed at 10s. In rogard to competitions, it was rosolvcd to leave it optional as to the ammunition used. Mr J. J. Mansell was accorded a vote of thanks for acting as bon. auditor, and the usual vote of thanks to the chair concluded a very good mooting.
