OBITUARY.
DR R. W. SPENCE
ADELAIDE, Nov. 5
The death is reported of Dr R. W. Spence, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Adelaide, at the age of 74.
The Most Rev. Robert William Spence, 0.P., D.D., was born at Cork on January 13, 1860, and was educated at Dublin and Lisbon. He was ordained as a priest in 1882, and worked as a missionary priest in Ireland and Lisbon. He was first Superior of the first House of the Dominicans, established at North Adelaide in September of 1898. He was consecrated Coadjutor Archbishop of Adelaide on August 16, 1914, and succeeded to the see on the death of Archbishop Riley, who died on July 16, 1915.
MR VOLTAIRE MOLESWORTH
SYDNEY, Nov. 5. The death has occurred of Mr Voltaire Moleswovtli, journalist,, formerly managing editor of the defunct Daily Guardian, and also a former Labour member of Parliament, at the age of 45.
