HUNGARIAN TRIBUTE.
TO MR ARTHUR HENDERSON
The Hungarian delegation recently presented to the League headquarters at Geneva a bust of Mr Arthur Henderson executed by the Hungarian sculptor M. Siegismond K. Stroble and given by M. Legrady. ’ The ceremony took place before a large audience, among whom were Sir John Simon and Mr Eden. _ .
M. L. Tahy, the Hungarian Minister, who presented the bust, said that the gift was tlie expression of the warm admiration and affection that the people of Hungary entertained for a great British statesman, who was also one of the greatest servants of tho idea of international co-oporation and peace. Mr Henderson said he derived satisfaction that he had been honoured by a representative citizen of a small nation. Throughout a long public life lie had endeavoured to show his sympathy with small nations and with minorities. He had also been a consistent advocate of a strong League of Nations. The road towards world peace and disarmament had often been dark and difficult, and at times there had been a temptation to despair. He had, however, not given way to discouragement, believing that the great majority of nations everywhere supported the cause of peace, desired that war should he outlawed and that the instruments of war should ho restricted and controlled by general consent.
