GOLD MINING.
WESTLAND* 1 ACTIVITY. Per Press Association HOKITIKA, Nov. 3. Advice lias been received that the Government has completed the purchase of the Humphreys Gully race rights. The work of repairing and extending the race is to be immediately ; commenced and a large number of men will be employed. The race commands a large auriferous area and a promising mining field ( will be opened up. There is much local ] jubilation over the completing of the ] purchase.
