TRAINING AT ELLERSLIE

A BUSY MORNING

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Nov. 1. The final gallops before the At ondale meeting took place this inoining in ideal conditions at Ellerslie. train-, ers had the use of the course propel, on which the poles were 30ft out from the rails, the going being first-class. Some smart efforts were recorded. The No. 3 grass, tan, two-year-old, and hurdle tracks were also availab-e. Gay Marigold, On Parade, Chief Cook, Killadar, Lady Diana, Hushing, and Crooning all worked impressively. On the course proper Courthaven was sent over seven furlongs in 1.33 3-5, Kelly assisting her ovei; the last half mile, run in 53 2-ssec, the latter doing better at the end. Aranus and Feimah did half a mile in 51 l-ssec, and were on terms at the finish, though Aramis appeared to be doing better. Hushing and Crooning, after running the first two furlongs in 25 l-ssec, reeled off five furlongs m 1.3 4-5, anti were on terms at the end, though Hushing, on the outside, impressed most. The maiden candidate, On Parade, was over a lengch ahead of Jalldy Karo after five furlongs run in 1.3 4-5. On Parade was running on solidly at the finish.

Chief Cook was half a length in front of Karangapai after six furlongs in 1.18 2-5, the first three being covered in 38 2-ssec. Chief Cook did his work well. Ruling King and Chief Emerald hit out with plenty of freedom over four furlongs, which took 50 2-osec. Chief Emerald should show up in minor company. One of the best efforts of the morning over five furlongs was credited to Killadar, who beat Solomon in 1.3 2-5, the first two furlongs being covered m 24 4 5. Killadar is in first-rate order. King Musk pleased better than Psychologist over six furlongs, which took 1.18 3-5. „ . , , After breakfast Notammt finished over four lengths ahead of First Lap after five furlongs had been run in 1.4 1-5. Lady Diana hit out freely to register 49 4-osec for four furlongs. She carried a fair weight and it was a good performance. After going away slowly, Clironiadyne ran three furlongs in 38 4-5 and completed six furlongs in 1.18 4-5. , . The two-year-old Armacourt reeled off three furlongs in 37 2-5. This filly possesses plenty of speed. On the tan Gay Marigold beat Lord Val by half a dozen lengths over six furlongs in 1.19. She ran the first three furlongs in 38 4-5 and the last half mile in 52 2-5. This track was in excellent order, nevertheless the gallop was a first class one. Arrivals this morning included Carfex, Fairfax, Aga Khan, Diagano, and Lady Kyra. AT TAKANINI.

The inside grass track, with the poles 12ft out, was used at Takanini and the .going was good. Nun Nicer, with Lap Up to assist over the last five furlongs completed seven furlongs in 1.30 4-5, the last six taking 1.16 2-5. fcipearcourt was four lengths ahead of Safari after five furlongs run in 1.4 2-5.

Gay Blonde and Tray Bit ran the best five furlongs of the morning, registering 1.3 1-5, Gay Blonde was in front early, but Tray Bit, who was close up at the finish, shaped very, creditably. Lifeguard reeled off half a mile in 50 3-ssec. a.nd Gay Sheik was a lengUi in front of M.emnon over a similar distance in 51sec. Memnon Lost a length at the start and was not disgraced. Gallant Knight led Arch Ruler by several lengths over the early part of six furlongs, but the latter .had his measure at the finish, running the distance in 1.17 3-5.
