MRS CLARK FAREWELLED.

Members of the Feiiding Croquet Club held a competition afternoon on their lawn on Thursday, when the opportunity was taken to farewell Mrs C. Clark, who has been a prominent i member of the club. On behalf of the members, Mrs Dewe (the president) handed to Mrs Clark a silver card tray as a token of regard and a remembrance of her association with the club, and ottered her the felicitations and best wishes of the members ill her new home at Whangarei. Mrs Clark suitably acknowledged the gift, stating that she had spent many happy days on the Feiiding and other croquet greens in the town. She regretted her departure and would be delighted to welcome any of her Feiiding friends to Whangarei. Competitions resulted as follow : Take off, Mrs J. W. Bramwell (Feiiding) and Mrs Knight (Central); ladder, Sirs Fidler (Central), and Mrs Findlay (Feiiding); golf, Mrs Hayward (Feiiding) and Miss K. Allen ('Feiiding); tunnel, Mrs F. Allen (Feiiding), and Mrs White (Central). Friends of Mrs Clark assembled at the residence of Mrs Z. McLeod, Sandilands Street, on Wednesday afternoon to farewell her, the hostess receiving her guests in a gown of black crinkly crepe and lace. A competition was won by Miss M. Grieve and an indoor putting contest by Mrs M. Andrews. Following tea, Mrs McLeod, on behalf of the guests, presented Mrs Clark with a handsome cup, saucer and plate in colours of rose and gold and wished her every happiness in her new home. Mrs Clark, who was attired in a smart black and white tailored suit and white hat, suitably replied. The guests included Mesdanies C. M. Sargisson, A. Kingston, W. Norris, M. Andrews, G. M.
