STATEMENTS MADE IN COURT. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 25. A remarkable suggestion that his wife had persecuted him, had told stories about him committing suicide, and ha.d had another man buried in his name, was made in the Magistrate’s Court this morning by George McDonald Hamilton, aged, 34, who was charged with failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order issued in Auckland in November 29, 1931. The arrears were admitted by Hamilton, who made the allegations when denying that he gambled. He was sentenced to six months’ hard labour. Accused had previously been sentenced for false pretences.
