BOXING CONTEST.
Per Press Association. NELSON, April 18. In a professional boxing match, Dave Palmer (Nelson) 10.4 defeated Watty Robertson (Gisborne) 10.6, Robertson throwing in the towel at the end of the fifth round owing to a thumb injury. Palmer was leading easily on points.
