(From Our Own Corespondent.) TAONUI, March 9. Monday night’s earthquake was felt very severely in this district, being the worst in the memory of residents. The strange part of the shake was that many households suffered much damage to chimneys and crookery while others escaped altogether. The school chimneys were m such a dangerous state as to require dism (titling and owing to the boisterous weather it was necessary to close the school for two days until this was done. Pumpkin and c-ucuuibor growers suffered great disappointment on rising on Sunday morning to line! their crops severely cut by frost. Potato crops also suffered damage. Since then the weather has been very Wl Tbe local tennis team will play a match against Bunnythorpe on Saturday, at Bunnythorpe.
