Mrs Harry Payne Whitney, a noted sculptor and a member of the Vanderbilt family, has presented to the New York Museum of Natural History the priceless world-famous Rothschild collection of birds. The 280,000 specimens include Mr Gregory Mathews’ Australian and Sir Walter Buller’s New Zealand, collections, a Pacific Island sectior , with specimens of extinct Hawaiian birds and a large British section.
