RUGBY FOOTBALL.
MASSEY COLLEGE CLUB. Arrangements for the coining Rugby football season were set in train at Massey College yesterday, _„when a meeting of students, about So in number, was held, the lecturers and others interested in the game also being present. Mr F. Scrivener was in the chair and outlined the club’s activities, giving a brief resume of the history of the club for the benefit of new members. Messrs C. Yates, J. Hardie and, F. Scrivener were elected delegates to the annual meeting of the Manawatu Rugby Union, while Mr C. P. McMeekan was elected coach of the juniors and Mr Hardie senior coach. A general discussion on the season’s programme followed when it was decided to commence practice on April 2. Prospects foT the season were considered bright ns there was a fair amount of promising talent amongst the new players. Senior and junior teams were assured, and it may be possible to enter one in. the third grade.
RUGBY RULES. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 21. The annual meeting of delegates of Hie Auckland Rugby Union decided tonight to adopt a scrum formation of three men in the front row irrespective of where the other forwards are placed. This permits of several experiments being carried out. TIMARU, March SI.
