BULLS, March 21. Mr 11. M. Watson, S.M., presided ovor a flitting of the Court in Bulls on Saturday. Mr Frederick Cutts was sworn in as a Justico iof the Peace. Judgment by dofault was given for plaintiffs in tho following cases: —Hill Bros. v. A. Qurrie £2O 7s 6d (costs (£4 Is 6d): Manawatu County Council v. A. A. Mitchell £3l 12s 3d (costa £4 11s 6d); E. J. Ellis v. I. R. Bevan £ls (costs £2 14s), D. Hayes ■was, ordered to pay to T. Forsyth, an assignee of tho estate of V. F. S. Edhouso, tho sum of £7 3s lOd; in default 10 days’ gaol, warrant to be suspended so long as £1 per month is paid. T.i Thomas was ordered to pay to S. R. Hodges tho sum of £6 13s sd, in dofault 7 days; warrant to bo suspended so long as £1 per month is paid. Tho Department of Agriculture (Mr E. A. Palmer) proceeded against A. W. Blanchard for exposing for salo in tho Bulls saleyards lice-infosted sheep. A fino of £l, with costs 10s, was inflicted.

The annual general meeting of the Ohakoa Miniature Rifle Club was held on Friday ovening, Mr J. Simpson presiding ovor a good attendance. The following officers 'wero elected: —Patron, Mr 11. Ellery; president, Mr- J. Simpson; clubcaptain, Mr H. Hill; joint-secretaries, Messrs G. Wiggins and W. Klatt. The annual report showed that the past season had been a very successful one, club members winning a good share of shooting honours, both in the Manawatu and Wanganui districts. The finances were in a sound condition, and the club placed on record the members’ appreciation of tho valuable assistance rendered by the ladies in making tlie club’s dances such a success. It was resolved to open tho season on April 4, and to hold an opening dance. A rule was framed that eight minutes be allowed for eight shots in all club shoots.

A very enjoyable game of cricket was played on tho Domain in fino weather during tho week-end betweon Bulls and Terrace End (Palmerston North) teams, each side batting 12 men. The visitors went to tho wickets first and put on 84, Sommorville making 40 by bright batting. Bulls replied with 140, Prichard giving a fine display for £3. and Meads (19) and K. Field (15) also shaping well. In their second innings Terraco End added 72 (Thoinpscn 19). Bulls then lost 5 for 25 (Rccvo 14), and won by 6 wickets. Scores are as follow;
