ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
WELLINGTON, Feb- 24. The council of the New Zealand Football Association at its meeting last night received a letter from the South African Association stating that if it decided to visit Java there could be little prospect of any round tour to include Australia and New Zealand, owing to the distance to be travelled and the time involved. Any visit to Australia and New Zealand at. any time would need to be quite apart'from other considerations. There tfas • little likelihood of. arranging ,the ■ tour to Java this year. There was a feeling-in some quarters that if' a team were sent from South Africa in 1933 it might be preferable to ask Australia arid New Zealand to receive it, the idea being that the Dominions, should received preference if possible and should be brought into closer co-opera-tl°A! further'letter said “that an exchange of visits between the Dominions is desirable, there can be no'doubt. It would liave the effect also of promoting the establishment of the British Commonwealth Association.” The correspondence was - hied for future, consideration.' ■-'<... 1
