CROSSING ACCIDENT.

MAN KILLED AT CHRISTCHURCH. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 2. William Hobman Cook, a butcher, of Christchurch, was killed, and John Wilson, a salesman, was seriously injured when a motor truck in which they were riding was struck by a train at a crosssing late yesterday. Mr Wilson, it is believed, was demonstrating the truck to Mr Cook. It is said that the truck was swung right round and completely wrecked. Mr Cook, the driver, was flung clear, but his head was smashed. Mr Wilson was caught and dragged under the engine. He was carried right across the cattle stop to the points beyond. His head was injured, his left ankle almost severed and his chest severely injured.
