The interim conference ot the Plunket Society was held on Wednesday morning. The principal business was to pass the annual statement of accounts, also to consider the council’s recommendations with regard to the matter of salaries. In view of the fact that a reduction of ten per cent, has been made in the grants from the Government to the society toward salaries, it was unanimously agreed that a reduction of ten pen cent, be made in all salaries and that where an increase in salary is due the increase should be given and a cut made on the increased salary. The usual half-yearly meeting of the council was held in connection with the conference.
