KIWITEA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) KIWITEA, Jan. 4. A very enjoyable dance was held in the Kiwitea Hall on New Year’s Eve, in aid of the hall funda. Visitors were present from Feilding and outlying districts, while a professional orchestra supplied the music, extras being played by Mr Brarnwell. At the dawn of the New Year, Mr T. E. Craine, chairman of the hall committee wished everyone present a very bright’and happy New Year, after which “Auld Lang Syne” was sung. Loud cheers were also given. Various novelties added to the night’s enjoyment which kept going till the small hours of 'the morning. The very many friends of Mr W. H. Gibson, will be very pleased to hear that he is making satisfactory progress following his recent accident, although ho will be in hospital for some time. Mr J. Cranston has returned from Taumaranui, where he has been the guest of Mr and Mrs A. McDougall. Mr P. McDougall, of Taumaranui, is now the guest of Mr and Mrs Cranston. Mr T. Freke is the guest of Mr and Mrs A. Banks, “Woodstock.” Mr and Mrs Wilton, of Palmerston North, are the guests of Mr and Mrs D. H. Kilgour, “Middlewood.”
