LATE MR MASSEY.

WREATH FROM CANADA. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 6. “In memory of an honoured friend and fellow-citizen of the Empire,” a wreath was laid on the tomb of the late William Ferguson Massey, former Prime Minister of the Dominion, yesterday morning by Mr T. M. Henderson, of Vancouver, 8.C., a retired wholesale drug merchant, who is making liis third visit to New Zealand in the interests of his health. The wreath was laid on behalf of the Canadian Club of Vancouver, of which Mr Henderson is a member, and it is also intended that a similar wreath shall be placed on the grave of the late Sir Joseph Ward at the earliest opportunity. Mr Massey was entertained by the Canadian Club when he was passing through Canada, as was Mr Forbes. “Not only are we honouring the memory of these two statesmen in sending the wreaths,” said Mr Henderson, “but also we hope that it may be regarded as a friendly gesture between the sister Dominions, and will help to strengthen further the bonds of Empire.”
