ROTARY CONFERENCE.

BUSINESS CONCLUDED. NATIONAL PARK, April 7. The annual conference of Rotary Clubs in New Zealand was concluded on Saturday. Most of the delegates left for their homes in the afternoon. The outstanding event of Saturday’s business was the appointment of the new district governor, in succession. to Mr C. J. Ronaldson, of Christchurch, Mr H. J. Guthrie, president of the Dunbdin Club, was elected to the position. The annual conference next year will be held at Dunedin. Mr C. Rhodes, of Auckland, addressed the conference on the necessity of building up a rotary international endowment to be available in time of emergency. He said that £2,000,000 would be aimed at, but while no levies were to be made, he asked all rotarians' to assist where possible. Before the conference closed, farewell addresses were given by overseas rotarian3. Dr. Otto Monson and Mr Elgin Stoddard both acknowledged the wonderful reception they had received in New Zealand and Australia. Dr. Monson, commenting on the statement that the United States was the home of Rotary said that it was Britain that drew Rotary across the border-fine and made it international.
