MOTOR SPEED TRIALS.

DELAYS AT DAYTONA BEACH. NEW~YORK, April 5. The Contest Board of the American Automobile. Association has issued the following announcement _ concerning Mr Kaye Don’s speed trials:—“The design of the Silver Bullet, in which Mr Don hopes to better the world’s automobile speed record, makes it imperative that the course should be in the best shape, and an extension of the sanction has been made for him to make his runs under the most favourable weather and beach conditions. The delays that have occurred have given rise to unfounded rumours to the effect that the noted British driver has been prodded. Such an impression has crept into the British Press. It is absolutely without foundation.” A message from Daytona Beach states that rough conditions prevail on the beach. Mr Don intimated that while the car would be ready on Sunday, the tests would be postponed inr definitely.
