BRITISH BIRTH RATE.

CONTINUED FALL. (Australian-Press Association.) LONDON, April 10. Commenting on the continued fall in the birth-rate, the Registrar-Gen-eral states that since 1923 the birthrate has entered upon a stage which, if there is not an improvement in the future,' must ultimately result in a declining population. The return for 1927, which has just been published, shows 40,391 fewer births than in 1926, the rate for the year being the lowest recorded.
