THE PACE CASE.
NEW POLICE INQUIRIES
(Australian Press Association.) LONDON, Sept. 4. The newspapers emphasise that Mrs Beatrice Paco, wno was recently aoquitted on the charge of poisoning her husband, a farmer of the Forest of Doan, is not affected by the new police inquiries, which are believed to be directed to questions of alleged perjury and conspiracy arising ou* of the inquest, and trial. Mrs Pace is now living quietly with her children in Gloucester. She regrets the renewed prominence given the case, but realises that the developments cannot affect her innocence, which was finally established.
A messago in yesterday’s issue stated that persistent reports were current that there were new and sensational developments in the Pace case. Sir Archibald Bodkin, Director of Public Prosecutions, was credited with considering tho reopening of proceedings.
