TOKOMARU NOTES.

TOKOMARU, Aug. 6. Miss Alice Liggins, of Auckland, is tho guest of her grandparents, Mr and Mrs Joseph Liggins, senr. Mrs Cadman and her daughter, Miss Hazel Cadman, are guests of Mr and Mrs A. Clarridge. On Friday evening the local Football Club hold a euchre nnd dance which proved a great success. Visitors wero present from Ealmorston North and Makerua. The prize-winners wore : —Ladies : Mrs J. Schwass let, Mrs V. Wilton consolation; men, Mrs J. Anderson Ist,' and Mr H. Parr consolation. Mrs Schwass kindly donated her prize back to the club. Mr Parr supplied the dunce music and MissC6 lv. Williams and D. Webb played extras. Mr Jack Irwin carried out the duties of M.C. Miss Mavis Gilmour returned to her homo on Saturday from Lepperton where she spent an enjoyable holiday. Mr and Mrs Stan. Makintosh and family . left on Sunday for Carterton. Miss Jean Forsythe spent the week-end with her mother, Mrs D. Forsythe. On Saturday the local footballers scored their first two points owing to Weraroa defaulting. On Saturday Tokomaru hockey girls played Bunnythorpe in the second game of the sealed handicap, Tokomaru being defeated by 15 to nil.
