LINTON NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) LINTON, Aug. 6.

On Wednesday last a leap year ball was held in tho Linton Hall, many visitors being present from surrounding districts. Tho hall was tastefully decorated for the occasion with greenery and many-coloured streamers, and a professional orchestra played excellent music. Tho M.C.’s for the leap year dances which lasted till 12 o’clock, were Misses Bntclielar and Blake. Mr O. Batchelor carried out tho duties of M.C. after 12 o’clock. Those present included Mrs Ballinger, black satin; Mrs Irvine, blue satin; Mrs Nash, powder bluo ehanneuse; Mrs Currin, black satin; Mrs Beckett, rose taffetas; Miss Young, Mies Adams, primrose georgette and gold lace; Miss Adams, pink georgotte; Miss Nita Batchclar, pink georgette; Miss F. Currin, rose pink crepe-de-chine; Miss L. Irvine, apricot cropc-de-chino and lace; Miss McKenzie, green crepe-de-chine; Miss B Curran, jade beaded crepe-de-chine; Miss A. Sharp, amber crepe-de-chine; Miss L. Moody, Blue crepc-de-chino; Miss Nonna Kelly, black velvet; Miss M. Richardson, lavender brocaded silk; Mjss Adelo Craw, peach coloured taffetas; Miss Agnes Craw, apricot taffetas and luce; Miss Simmons, turquoise bluo taffetas and silver lace; Miss M. Foster, red crepe-de-chine; Miss R. Erocter, pink crepe-de-chinc. Two novelty dances were held during the evening and were won by Miss M. Foster and Mr Williams and Miss Simmons and Mr 11. Moody.
