MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. Mr J. C. Young presided over the monthly meeting of the management committee of the Manawatu Football Association last evening. There were also prosent Messrs T. R. Lees, T. West, H. Simmonds and J. Dick. The treasurer, Mr Dick, reported that all fees had been paid. It was decided to appoint Mr Simmonds secretary. The question of primary school football was again raised and it was decided to hold a meeting of delegates from the various clubs to discuss matters in that connection on May 19. Messrs Contour and Gardiner, of tlie R.S.A. Club, waited upon the committee to discuss the same matter and wero invited to attend the mooting in connection therewith. Mr Contour also brought up the question of travelling costs, stating that it would bo a burden to his club if an extra round was played. The chairman explained that, owing to Foxton’s withdrawal, if all went well the season wouldu bo concluded at the end of August. In that ease an extra round might have to be played during September. That position would not ariso if any wot Saturdays wore experienced. A further deputation—Messrs Crowe and Wardoll —waited on the connnitteo with reference to Wednesday football. Mr Crowe stated that, although ho could say nothing definite, there would probably bo three teams from Palmerston North and one from Feilding. He asked representatives of the management committee, to bo present at the practice the following day to explain the necessary organisation. Mr Young reported that ho had had a conversation with the rector of the Boys’ High School, Mr J. Murray, .who had stated that it had been found impossible to place soccer on tho list of official school sports this year. Mr Dick suggested that tho Wellington Association bo asked to send a team to Palmerston North on Juno 4. If would be, he contended, a good trial for the Wellington team prior to the English trophy matches. Should the Wellington team not ho able to come, ho suggested that tho Wellington Association be asked to get somebody to organise a team to mako the trip. After some further discussion ho withdrew the second part of his suggestion which, being put in the form of a motion, was carried and a telegram to the Wellington Association was despatched.. Tho St. Andrew’s Club forwarded the amount of the gate money taken at the final day of their annual tournament at Easter. It was specified that tho money be used for the encouragement of primary school football. Donations wero also received from Messrs J. 0. Radford and S. Wheeler. The following fixtures were drawn up:— May 12.—Senior: St. Andrews v. Flock House, North Street Park, 3 p.m.; R.S.A. v. Athletic, North Street Park, 3 p.m. Junior: Rangers v. R.S.A., North Street Rark, 1.45 p.m.; Flock House, a bye. May 19.—Senior: R.S.A. v. St. Andrews, North Street Park; Athletic v. Flock House, Flock House.

A meeting of soccer enthusiasts was held last evening to discuss the inauguration of a Wednesday competition. Considering tho number who turned out to a practice last Wednesday tho attendance was poor and little definite could bo done, a further meeting being agreed on to be held this afternoon. It was decided to ask members of tho management committco to bo present.
