SENTENCES AT WELLINGTON.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 8. For receiving jewellery valued at £57, knowing it to have been stolen, Claude Weldon Ellison was admitted in the Supreme Court by His Honour Mr Justice Smith to a year’s probation, on condition that he pays £5 3s. the costs of the prosecution. For the theft of articles, valued at £4 9s, Jack Cooper got six months’ imprisonment. A charge of breaking and entering and theft at Masterton, to which he pleaded not guilty, was withdrawn.
