Dalgety, and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram -from their London house under date of the 15th instant:—Lamb: N.Z. prime Canterbury lamb, 28/36, 9|d; North Island, 28/36, 94d; Canterbury, 36/42, 9gd; North Island 36/42, 9Jd; Canterbury 2nd quality 84d; North Island 2nd quality, 7Jd; Canterbury 42/50, 9d; Market unchanged; demand limited. Mutton: N.Z. prime Canterbury mutton, 48/56, 6§d; North Island 48/56, s?d: Canterbury 56/64, sld'; North Island 56/64, sgd; Canterbury 64/72. sfd; North Island 64/72/ sid; Canterbury ewes 48/64, 4jd; North Island ewes 48/64, 4gcl.. Market steady and unchanged; demand moderate. Beef: Argentine chilled hinds 6£d; fores 4d. Pork : English porkers 80/ 100. lOd; N.Z. porkers 80/100, B£d; N.Z. porkers 100/120, 8d; N.Z. baconers 120/ 170, 6£d; N.Z. baconers 170/over, 6d. Australian lamb: G.A.Q. Australian lamb 28/ 36, B£d; 3rd Australian lamb, 5Jd to 6Jd. Market dull owing to lack of demand; demand poor. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents dated l6th December, 1927: —Frozen meat quotations (prices on a delivered basis, i.e., including storage charges, cartage, tolls, etc.) :—Down and best North Island lamb, nil; ordinary North Island lamb, 28-42, BJd per lb.; second quality lamb, 8!d. Best North Island wethers, 48-64, s|d; 64-72, s£d; ordinary North Island wethers, 48-64, s|d; North Island l ewes, 48-64, 4gd; 64-72, 4jjd. New Zealand prime' ox beef, 160-220,' 4§d. As compared with last week’s quotations, wethers and light ewes . are id per lb. higher, and others are unchanged. Tho market is firm, but quiet. STOCK MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Coy., Ltd., report: At our Feilding sale on Friday, fat sheep sold well. Store sheep were also in demand. Quotations are : Ewe hoggets, 28s Id to 32s 2d; wether hoggets, 22s 4d, store cows, 30s to £4 12s 6d, fat cows, £4 18s to £5 10s. Dalgety and Co., Ltd, report having a small entry of fat and store sheep and a small entry of cattle at their Feilding sale on Friday. There was a keen demand throughout for all classes of stock anjf the following are quotations:—Fat ewes; 19s 4d, 10s lOd, 20s Id. 20s 9d: fat 2-ths • 255, 25s 6d, 25s lOd; fat wethers, 265; empty owes 16s 7d; cull 2-th wethers 20s; 2-th ewes 28s 6d; aged woolly ewes with w.f. lambs 37s 3d; spg. heifers £7 10s, £8 12s 6d; cows in milk £8 to £10; store cows £2 10s, £3, £3 ss; light fat cows £5 4s, £5 10s, £6; prime fat cows £7 19s; light fat bullocks £lO 17s 6d: prime fat bullocks £l2 2s 6d, £l2 3s.
Abraham and Williams Ltd., report as follows on Feilding sale held on Friday. There was a 3mall yarding of both sheep and cattle and practically all our yarding was sold under the hammer at prices on a par with last week’s sale. Wo quote: Sheep: Fat b.f. lambs, to 26s sd; fat b.f. 2-tooths. 26s 9d to 29s 4d; fat wethers, 26s 6d to 275: fat ewes, 19s to 21s sd. . Cattle : Fat b.f. heifers, to ■£4 17s 6d. fat cows, £4 17s 6d, £7 to £7 ss; fat bullocks, £lO 17s 6d to £ll 16s; springing cows, to £lO 12s 6d; forward cows, £3 15s. £4 .to £4 15s: store cows, 27s 6d, £2 5s to £3 2s 6d; bulls, £4 15s, £5 15s to £6 10s; 1 4-yr mare, £2l.
