ACCUSED FOR SENTENCE

CHRISTCHURCH, Aprij 21. George Cecil Nield-pleaded guilty today to having received £IOO and' failing to account for it to Thomas Mcßae Clark, of Ashburton. Nield was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.

His statement showed that he was heavily involved in transactions concerning insurance shares. He said that the trouble was caused by paying out profits to. clients that never had been earned. By one transaction he was £3OOO in debt. He came to New Zealand from Eng,land three years ago. Tho magistrate said that accused’s statement showed that ho had defrauded people of thousands of pounds.
